WHAT CAN YOU PRODUCE WITH COTTON T-SHIRT OPEN FLOOR TRANSFER PAPER?
Although it is generally called Subli-T cotton T-shirt transfer paper in our industry, you can produce not only t-shirts but also pillowcases, hats, mouse pads, kitchen aprons and even very stylish cloth bags with this easy-to-use paper.
COTTON T-SHIRT OPEN FLOOR TRANSFER PAPER CAN BE USED ON WHICH FABRICS?
cotton t-shirt paper; In addition to 100% cotton textile products, it allows you to transfer your prints with photographic quality and natural matte appearance to the fabric surface, even in viscose, linen, silk and cotton-polyester mixed fabric types. However, it should be noted that the base color of this special paper is transparent. In other words, the color of the textiles to be used for printing should be white or light colored. As the color of the fabric to be used for printing darkens, the print will lose its visibility. While the best printing result in terms of colors is obtained on a white t-shirt, it should be taken into account that the base color of the light-colored fabric will cause a change in the color tones on the print.
WHICH INKS AND PRINTERS ARE COMPATIBLE FOR COTTON T-SHIRT TRANSFER PRINTING PAPER?
T-shirt transfer paper can be printed with almost any desktop inkjet printer available on the market. You can print with dye, pigment and sublimation inks with HP, Canon, Epson, Brother, Lexmark office type, photo or sublimation printers. This printer has wide hardware compatibility thanks to its flexibility. Thanks to the special coating on the printing surface, it provides excellent printing colors and abrasion resistance during use. This special coating also prevents inks from flowing and maintains print sharpness. It should not be used in toner copiers, laser printers or led printers except inkjet ink printers.
Prepare your photo or graphic design in A4 size on the computer. The most important thing to note here is that you need to reverse the image before printing, as in other open ground transfer papers. This process can also be achieved, if desired, by selecting a mirror image print during printing from the printer. Both of these processes should not be applied at the same time.
When placing the paper in the printer, it should be placed considering that the printing surface is completely white, that is, the unwritten side. There is a carrier with a yellow logo on the back of the printed front page and is not suitable for printing.
When printing, you need to make some settings on the printer. Select “Epson Photo Quality Inkjet Paper” or “Epson Matte” as the paper option,
In the printer, select the "Standard" quality as the print quality, you do not have to print all of the A4 size transfer paper at once. You can print as much as you need, cut off the rest and save it for later use,
If your photograph or graphic work is smaller than the transfer paper you will use, then the unprinted part of the transfer paper may create a tonal difference on the textile. For this reason, if you cut the unprinted parts of the paper with scissors or a contour cut foil cutter, leaving a certain margin, your final result will look much better.
Important Note: If contour cutting will be made with a foil cutter, the paper should be taken to a carrier and cut, and the open ground paper should be completely cut with its own carrier in this cut.
Before printing, if you decoupage with scissors or a foil cutter, the transfer paper will look like this. Before printing with the paper, press the blank t-shirt for 5-10 seconds to remove the wrinkles and moisture on the t-shirt,
Then place the paper on the T-shirt with the printed side of the paper on the T-shirt and press it tightly.
When the printing time is over, turn on the heat press immediately. Before the print has cooled down, remove the paper carrier by carefully lifting it from the edge. If there is a lift in the printed area while the carrier is being removed, it can be re-adhered to the fabric by pressing again for a short time. After removing the carrier, you can press it for 10 seconds by putting a Teflon cloth or protective paper on it to increase the durability of the print.
WASHING: The printed product should be waited for 24 hours before the first wash. Before washing, the t-shirt should be turned upside down and taken to the inside of the printed area. Although it is basically washed in the same system as colored products, it should not be forgotten that this type of printed product should be washed more sensitively and carefully. Washing should be done in the machine, not by hand, and the coldest possible program should be selected. Bleach or heavy cleaning chemicals should not be used, if possible, it should be washed with a color protective detergent.
DRYING: When the washing is finished, it should be taken out of the machine and dried immediately, so the fabric should not be left wet. Leaving it wet in the washing machine may cause colors to blend or run. Drying in a tumble dryer is not recommended. It is recommended to dry by hanging and even by laying if possible,
IRONING: It is recommended to iron with the textile turned inside out. If ironing is to be done from the top, ironing should be done in a non-steam iron or with the steam function turned off and by protecting the printed surface with Teflon or baking paper,
MAINTENANCE: The product is durable according to standard usage conditions during use. Stretching or compressing the textile in extreme dimensions may cause breakage or spillage in the printed part.
HOW TO MAKE A TRANSFER PRINTING WITH IRON ON COTTON LIGHT FLOOR PRINTING PAPER?
Set the steam system of the iron to the off setting,
Make sure the iron is not leaking water.
Set the heat setting to high/cotton,
If you are going to transfer by ironing, do not use an ironing board. For example, if you are going to print a t-shirt, first lay a pillowcase on a hard surface such as a wooden table. Lay out the t-shirt that you will print on the pillowcase,
Before printing with paper, iron the t-shirt to remove wrinkles and moisture on the t-shirt,
Then, place the printed surface of the cotton open ground transfer printing paper on the t-shirt with the printed surface facing the fabric,
When the iron reaches the temperature, you can start the transfer process by ironing. While ironing, apply pressure by giving your whole body weight. Even if the ironing time varies according to the size of the transfer paper used and the type of fabric, you can generally apply the following times;
Full page : 3 minutes
Half page : 1.5 minutes
Quarter page : 1 minute
You can stop ironing when the printing time is up. Before the print has cooled down, remove the paper carrier by carefully lifting it from the edge. If there is a lift in the printed area while the carrier is being removed, ironing can be done for a short time to ensure that the lifted area adheres to the fabric again. After removing the carrier, you can iron it for a short time by putting a Teflon cloth or protective paper on it to increase the durability of the print.
